ACADEMIC SUPPORT
Satit Modindaeng had variety of educational services and resources to provide best learning experiences to the students. It had smart classrooms, classrooms that were conducive for learning with variety of learning equipment. It had a library with wide range of reading materials that can be used by both students and teachers. It also had different learning laboratories like English laboratory, Science laboratory, Fabrication laboratory, ICT laboratory and the like. The schools also provided different extra-curricular activities to develop not just the cognitive aspect of the students but also their sports skills and social skills. The schools also had students’ club or organization which can help to develop the leadership skills of the students. The school also provided guidance and counseling service for the students to support their mental or emotional health. The school also made sure that the teachers were equipped with enough knowledge and skills before teaching. That was why the school encourage collaboration, team teaching, classroom observation and teaching reflection. It also had parents and teachers club to have harmonious relationship between teachers and parents to easily monitor any gaps in development and identify the area of excellence of the students. The school and home work hand in hand to boost the academic success of the students.
TEACHING SYSTEM
Lesson plan was very important in Satit Modindaeng it was the heart of their teaching system. All teachers were required to make their lesson plan and it must be approved and signed by their teaching supervisors. Every Monday all teachers from the Foreign Department conducted a meeting about their teaching plan. They collaborate on their teaching plan to have a better results in actual teaching. When the teachers were teaching there were other teachers that assigned to observe and assist their class they also gave their comments and suggestions.
They have seven regular class periods. The first period starts at 8:30 but they need to go to school earlier for their flag raising ceremony which held every morning at 8:00am, and the seventh period ended at 3:40 pm. The teachers and student teachers must stay in the school and work at their offices until the 7th period ended. But some teacher must stay in the school longer because they need to teach in the 8th period for remedial class.
I admired how the teachers were respectful and submissive to school's rules and regulation. I admired how they collaborate and cooperate with each other to improve their teaching plan and teaching performance to give their students utmost learning experiences.
